Jalandhar District Badminton Championship from August 3
DC Ghanshyam Thori releases official poster of the Championship
Jalandhar : District Badminton Association, Jalandhar, with support of Think Gas and Adidas is organizing the District Badminton Championship from August 3 to August 7 at Raizada Hansraj Stadium. On Thursday, DBA President and DC, Jalandhar, Shri Ghanshyam Thori (IAS), released the official poster of the Championship.
DBA Secretary and former national player Shri Ritin Khanna informed that during the Championship, under-11, 13, 15, 17, 19 Boys-Girls and Men And Women Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles competition will be held.
“In the Veteran category, there will be events in the age group of 35 plus to 60 plus. The fee for each player is fixed at Rs 750/- per event and players can register their names by July 28”, he said.
Shri Khanna further informed that without the entry fee receipt and after the last date of registration, no entry will be accepted. “All the players participating in the tournament are required to bring their age certificate.
In case of any dispute, then the decision of DBA will be considered final”, he informed, while adding that the participants, along with two passport-size photographs, can get their entries submitted by contacting Administrator Gurjit Singh and Coach Bhaskar Mukherjee.
Shri Ritin Khanna informed that on August 7, DC Jalandhar Shri Ghanshyam Thori will felicitate the winners. During the Championship, all the players will be provided free refreshments.
Also, arrangements have been made for the Live Streaming of the matches. “It is really a matter of pride that for the first time in the 50-year history of DBA, the winners will be given attractive and cash prizes worth Rs.3 Lakh.
Besides, Certificate and Trophy will be given to each participant”, said Shri Khanna. He also said that Sindhu and Gopichand Running Trophies will be awarded to the winners of Women and Men Singles competition. The event is supported by Think Gas, Adidas, MK Wires, Metro Milk, Jagatjit Industries, Savi International and LPU.
