Kapurthala administration initiates Physical verification of Development works in district villages
Kapurthala : With an aim to ensure the proper utilisation of government funds issued for Development works in a transparent manner, Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Mr Vishesh Sarangal has started the physical verification of all the completed development works in the district.
Starting from the Villages falls under Nadala and Dhilwan Block, Deputy Commissioner visits Mand Ibrahim wall, Dhaliwal Bet and Badshahpur villages where he took stock of the construction of Thapar model pond, concrete streets in the interior of villages, water supply and sewerage works etc.
Mr Sarangal has also checked the quality and quantity of works done using the grants issued by PIDB ( Punjab infrastructure Development Board ), Punjab Nirman program , Smart village campaign 1 and 2 during previous years besides doing on the spot review of the width and length of the roads and streets.
Deputy commissioner has made it clear that the ongoing development works in the villages across the district would be evaluated on different parameters as per the norms of CSR (Common schedule of Rates ).
Vowing to ensure the proper utilisation of government funds, Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration officials has been asked to personally monitor the quality of development works besides ensuring the completion in the given time frame .
He also checked the record of completed development works in villages besides taking feed back from the local residents about the pending works.During his visit, DC interacted with a number of local residents and appealed to them to keep a vigil on the ongoing development and give feedback regarding misuse of funds , if any.
Deputy Commissioner said that the negligence by government officials in development works would not be tolerated and stern action would be taken against the erring officials.
