Har Ghar Tiranga: DC Kupwara finalises preparations, plan of activities

Asks officers to play proactive role for successful conduct of programme

Kupwara : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir today chaired a meeting of all concerned Officers, here to finalise the preparations and plan of activities for celebrations of ‘Har GharTiranga’ programme to mark the 75th Independence Day under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

The meeting discussed threadbare various issues related to successful implementation of the programme.The DC said, “The programme aims to invoke a feeling of patriotism among the citizens and promote a sense of respect for the symbols of Independence” and added that the programme is being held from August 11 to August 16, this year.

He enjoined upon all officers and field functionaries to play a proactive role for successful conduct of programmes across the district. He also stressed them to ensure all necessary arrangements well in advance to make the programme a grand success.

He said two tier system has been evolved in the district, one will be at block level which will be monitored by Tehsildars, BDOs, CDPOs, SHOs and another at district level which will be headed by ACD, ACP, DSWO, Police Head.

The meeting discussed data regarding block wise details of flags requisitioned by RDD and was informed that there are 385 Gram Panchayats in 24 blocks of the district and there is a tentative requirement of 45645 flags which include 42685 medium size for residential purposes, 1155 big for institutional buildings and 1805 small for cars.

The DC gave the deadline of August 1 and asked concerned to deposit the money at Treasuries at a minimum price of Rs.20 per flag. He said it is a multi departmental task in which each and every employee has to participate and make the programme successful.

He asked the officers of Rural Development Department to ensure active participation of PRIs in the programme at panchayat levels adding that the RDD is the Nodal Agency for the programme.

Other officers were also directed to take all required measures for the success of the programme.DC enjoined upon all the officers/Officials and Nodal officers to go through the Flag Code and follow Standard protocol to honour the National Flag.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara/ Kupwara; Additional Superintendent of Police, Kupwara/Handwara; Assistant Commissioner Development; Assistant Commissioner Panchayats, Chief Education officer, District Information Officer, District Social Welfare officer, ZEOs, Tehsildars, Block Development officers, Accounts officer, DC Office , CDPOs and other concerned attended the meeting.
