Become job givers, not just job seekers : Bandaru Dattatraya

Mahendergarh: Calling upon students to become job givers, and not just job seekers, Haryana Governor-Chancellor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Sunday said that the society and the country have a lot of expectations from the students who are passing out from the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh. Shri Dattatraya, who was speaking as the Chief Guest at 8th Convocation of the CUH, Mahendergarh, said: “The society and the country are expecting a lot from the students who are passing out from the University. We need to strive hard to contribute to society and the nation.” He further said that the government was spending a lot on skill development and the promotion of start-ups. “The focus of our students should be on becoming job givers, and not just job seekers,” he said.

Earlier, Haryana Governor-Chancellor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya paid his tributes to great freedom fighter and revolutionary Chandrashekhar Azad on his punyatithi! Prof KK Aggarwal, Chairman, National Board of Accreditation, who was the Guest of the Honour, said that knowing more than one discipline is necessary. “Thus, interdisciplinary and life-long learning courses play a vital role in the development of a university. As NEP has rightly promulgated, we need to prepare global citizens, who are rooted in India.”Prof Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor, CUH, presented the progress report of the university and thanked the Chief Guest and other distinguished guests for their presence. He also congratulated the students who received the degrees and gold medals and wished them for their bright future.

The Vice Chancellor said that despite the challenges and obstacles faced due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the university kept its aim and vision firm to promote quality education and research. He said the university shall be in a leading position in its research and innovation work in the coming years.At the 8th Convocation of CUH, PhD, MPhil, Graduate and Post-Graduate degrees were given to a total of 1078 students and researchers. There were 604 boys and 474 girls. It is important to mention that 825 students passed their examinations in the first division.Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of Haryana Shri OP Yadav, former Education Minister Prof Rambilas Sharma, members of the Executive Council, Academic Council and the Court of the CUH, dignitaries from different educational institutions, Deans of different Schools, heads of various departments, teachers, students and researchers were present at the convocation.
