Landran : Two novel contraptions for automobiles innovated by Ravinder Bishnoi a third year student pursuing IT engineering, from CGC Landran have been granted patents by the Patents Office, Government of India.
His patented inventions include an ‘Assembly for Retraction of Side Stand’ and a ‘Vehicle Horn Control Assembly.’ Ravinder’s achievement bears testimony to CGC’s continued focus on nurturing its students’ interest in innovation and research.
Having filed over 900-plus patents, thus far, the institution is ranked among the top five patent filing institutions across India, by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, Trademarks and Geographical Indicators, Government of India.
The first of these unique creations ‘Assembly for Retraction of Side Stand’ is aimed at enhancing the safety of two-wheeler drivers. The device will automatically detect and alert two-wheeler users especially those driving motorbikes, about the stand of the bike being down which is a common cause of major accidents and injury.
It will also retract the bike stand automatically, thereby safeguarding the rider(s). Ravinder’s second patented invention, the ‘Vehicle Horn Control Assembly’, will effectively help reduce noise pollution by countering unnecessary honking of horns by vehicle users.
It is a two-part device based on an advanced circuit breaker and radio frequency which automatically cuts the horn volume to zero thereby preventing honking by drivers especially near hospitals, schools, or residential areas.
Additionally, Ravinder’s keen interest in researching on ways to solve pressing social problems and his affinity for entrepreneurship has also made him set up his own startup. Created in partnership with a fellow CGCian, third year IT engineering student Shubh Sarpal, his startup which was incubated and is being supported by CGC’s ACIC RISE association, seeks to provide solutions for the automobile sector and users.
ACIC RISE has successfully incubated over 35-plus startups and continues to support entrepreneurs nurturing dreams of having their own businesses.
